Griffin awoke with a jolt, he had seen her again. Just as he did, every other night, since that day all those years ago. He pushed himself out of the bed, touching his fingertips to the picture frame at his bedside. He found his glasses lying beside it and put them on, brushing the hair out of his eyes as he did. He cracked his neck, the left side first and then the right just like every other morning. Then he found himself on the ground and did his morning pushups, followed by his crunches and then closed his eyes and meditated for twelve minutes. Grif was a creature of habit, or as most would put it obsessive compulsive. He didn’t believe that he freaked out so easily but his aides would whisper behind his back about it. It was an act, something he amped up to make those around him think he was weak. He had learned long ago that those who showed signs of perfection, signs of strength were torn down to prevent any sort of rebellion, Griffin was determined to beat the system, and giving himself some negative quirks was a small price to pay for his end goal.
He finished his morning workout with a smile and then went for the shower. He let the water heat up around him causing the steam to constrict on his breathing, he took long deep breaths, opening his lungs and letting the pressure release out through his mouth. He found showers to be most relaxing and the perfect time to think on matters at hand, clarity was at its finest amongst the steam.
He took his time getting dressed, typically blue garments covered his body, his glasses draped over the bridge of his nose and he took one last long look in the mirror before opening the door to his home and heading outside. He took the long way to the lab, as he always did wandering through the city, passing each of the five compounds of the factions and then walking down Michigan avenue past the largest group of Factionless. Griffin was merely the leader of the Erudite but he cared for everyone, wanting the best for all of the members of this city. That was why he worked so tirelessly to perfect this place, to perfect his home. He made this trip daily and sometimes someone came by to speak with him, out of recognition of him and his work, or just to be friendly but it was a part of his morning routine he quite enjoyed, he liked people and never minded the company.

In her dream he had tried to kill her. He tried to get her trust again and then he tried to kill her. She woke up screaming like normal. She started crying and turned her head to the door as if her stiff brother would come running in to try and comfort her. She knew better but it didn't stop the habit.
Jinx got in the shower and screamed in pain as the hot water hit her knuckles. She got out and for the first time in a while she wrapped her hands up. She then got dressed in a blood red tank top and jean shorts. She put on her black combat boots and ran out of her apartment and out of dauntless and onto the train. she got off and ran through the factionless sectors. Passing one of the biggest groups she ran right into someone. When she got up and saw who it was, or atleast saw all the blue she knew it wasn't a factionless member but an erudite.
"I'm sorry. Wasn't watching where i was going."

She had come out of nowhere, Griffin felt like he had been paying attention but when the girl made contact with his shoulder, he realized that he had missed her. She hit his shoulder at a good clip and went down in quite a heap. Grif was not surprised in the least bit, he was well built and his balance was top notch. He had trained extensively, even more so than most dauntless members. Which by the look of the young woman she seemed to be herself. She quickly picked herself up and he dusted himself off, fixing the sleeves on his shirt before really looking at the young girl. Her eyes screamed to a lack of sleep and both her hands were wrapped in bandages, this clearly wasnt her week.
She apologized quickly and he nodded to her, no harm no foul to him. He understood of course, getting lost in your own mind and just moving. People sometimes forget that they should be careful, be watchful for others in the real world. He had done it plenty of times before and he knew that he would surely do it again. "It's quite alright miss. You seem to be in quite a hurry this morning? Should I be worried that someone would be chasing after you?" He raised his eyebrows, he was a Faction leader so he should at least look into the situation and make sure that the young girl was alright.
Looking her over, Griffin had always been good with putting names to faces, he recognized her. Having spent much of his adult life, overseeing the serum for the initiation test, he took a special interest in knowing everyone and how their results had come out. In front of him stood a Candor to Dauntless transfer, one of many.

Looking at the male in front of her she see he had brown hair and had kinda a muscular tone him. She thought all erudite were skinny weaklings who couldn't fight for the life of them. This guy seamed to be different. He asked if someone was running after her. For all she knew her parents knew once she got on the train that she wasn't in dauntless anymore. She looked down at the floor before speaking, "For all i know sir, my parents knew as soon as i got on the train that i would be in the city."
She picked her head up and looked at the male, "they never liked me much sir." Didn't like her was being nice, they hated her with a burning passion ever since she picked dauntless. They probably hated her brother top seeing as he picked abnegation. One of her initiates asked if she missed her old faction, she was actually glad she left.
Jinx put her arms behind her back and rested her body weight on her heals. Then to her tip toes and back to her heals. She waited for him to respond.

Griffin held his stance, a strong backbone that left him standing tall. He looked down at the young brunette, Jinx Loverin was her name, standing straight but shaken. She told a broken story about parents who were following her, or at least could be. Her parents were in Candor and she in Dauntless, he wasnt sure what she meant by that and wasnt sure how to question what she meant without being insulting.
He followed her eyes as they went from the ground and then to his face, standing still and staring at her with great conviction. He was curious about the young girl who couldnt even be twenty years old just yet, and yet looked as if she had already been through hell and back. "And how would they know, Ms. Loverin, if you indeed got on the train?" He spoke like a researcher, straight and to the point, Griffin could be charismatic if he really pushed the issue, but this early in the morning was not one of those times where he felt it to be overly important.
While it was a sad tale that she told, she was not the only one who went through these sort of hardships. Griffin knew all about it, he had been through it all over the years and maybe just maybe he could help her out.

Jinx was taking back a bit when he knew her last name. She didn't like to be called that nor did she like to be called her actual name but she choose that name upon initiation. So she had to live with it but she just didn't want anything to do with her old faction. She hated them and was glad that the guy in front if her wasn't from candor. Nobody knew the story of a girl who used to be beaten in candor, not many people anyway. Everyone asked why she had bruises and cuts along her arms but she just pushed it off as she fell from a tree.
Jinx sighed before speaking. "Last time i came into the city i saw them glaring at me, then three hours later i saw them by the train glaring at me again. They have spies. I have meet a few before. I'm just glad in not in candor anymore." Jinx once again looked in the guys eyes, "You seem to know my name sir but i do not know your name."

Griffin watched as the young girl was taken aback by his comment, she wasnt expecting him to know her name. He withheld a smile at that fact, he wasnt one to gloat, not aloud anyway. She hadnt had an easy life, she had left Candor running. Griffin made it his business to know everyone's business, most importantly their hidden skeletons. He had to reason to reveal that he knew all this young girls secrets, no need to embarrass her. But if he ever needed her, needed something done he would have the ammunition he needed. Sometimes Griffin Lambert was too smart for his own good.
Spies in candor. Hmm that was the first he had heard of such a thing, he was curious if she needed mental help. She seemed to be extremely paranoid or maybe things were as bad as she seemed to believe them to be. "Spies, are you sure about that? I'll get my security people on it right away" Her eyes found his and he smiled at her, her question obvious and expected. "Me? I am Griffin Lambert. Head of Erudite m'dear" He held out his hand for her to shake. Morning walks always made things interesting for him.
