personality: Jinx is very shy when you first meet her. She hates getting close to new people because she is afraid she will have to kill them. She is very active in the mornings but never gets a lot of sleep at night. She acts happy and hyper around people so they don't know that she used to be this weird person. Before making it into Dauntless she used to be anorexic, meaning she made her family eat before she did which usually meant she didn't get a whole lot of food. So she is used to not eating a lot and has to force herself to eat around people. She loves to fight and be up and moving. She doesn't like sitting still and will do anything to get up and moving.

history: Jinx was born into Candor but she never conformed to it. She never spoke her mind instead hide away and always would go outside and run when the Dauntless came by. She thought it would be cool to be there. Like how they help and are always moving. Her parents did not like that. They wanted her to stay in Candor and have a life there and never leave. Jinx did not want that. She wanted to be out and run, move and fight. She was a fighter and her parents didn't like that. Even though her mother was Amity born. So her parents used to never feed her. They would lock her in her room until they thought she was asleep. They wanted Jinx to be their idea of a perfect child sense Shadow already was.
During that time Jinx would wait till they were all asleep and then sneak into the kitchen and eat food. When the morning came and they yelled at her, she lied saying the mice ate it or something. Jinx was so not fit to be in Candor. She is not honest at all and hates it when people are too honest. So when it came time for Jinx to take the test her results were Dauntless and she couldn't help but smile. Then at the choosing ceremony she picked Dauntless and went through their initiation. She came second place in her class. She was happy but only because she was where she belonged. She then became a trainer and helps the new initiates into Dauntless. She hates seeing the ones who don't make it have to go into the factionless. She wished they could go back to their families.
Jinx did meet this one guy while she was an initiate. He was an initiate too and helped her out sometimes. Even though she didn't want to even talk to him they seemed to get along okay. He made it along with her but right below her. He got upset and never talked to her again. He did say he would some day out rank her and be above her.
When her brother got his turn the next year to choice his faction. He didn't stay with the family either and it made no sense. He was so honest all the time. It wasn't like she cared. Faction before blood as the saying goes. She went back to Dauntless to train the new kids and never saw her brother or family again. She was glad she hated them.
Jinx had just picked Dauntless and she was running with them through the town. She saw them stop and start climbing up unto the railroad. So she went up with them but she was not the last one up there. She got onto the train with everybody else and had the biggest adrenaline rush ever. She looked around and one of the Dauntless people were smiling at her. Jinx nodded and couldn't stand still so she started to move around. One of the Dauntless trainers said that in order to make it into Dauntless they would have to jump. Jinx didn't understand till she saw people jump out of the train and onto a building top. Jinx smiled and after the girl that smiled at her went she went. Jinx did a barrel roll even though she didn't know what that was at first.
Jinx got up brushed herself off and went over to the rest of the group. Jinx listened as they said that they would have to jump again to get into dauntless. Jinx smiled until somebody asked what was at the bottom. "I guess you will have to find out." Jinx said out loud. The Dauntless trainer looked at her and smiled. "Sense you spoke up first, you will be the first to jump." He said holding his hand out to the hole that was in the building. Jinx smiled and went over. She took a deep breath and jumped. She felt like she had been falling for a few minutes till she hit a net and went flying back up a little bit. She couldn't help but giggle. Then somebody moved the net and she got onto solid ground.
"Name? You can make a new one if you want but you only get to pick once so make it good." Jinx smiled and told him her name that she was born with. Jinx. He yelled out, "First jumper! Jinx!" Then he turned to her and smiled, "Welcome to Dauntless Jinx." Then he had to turn around because another kid had jumped. Jinx finally felt like she belonged somewhere. She smiled and as she looked around she thought to herself, I can't wait to become a full member of dauntless.
