Shadow had found himself at the hub on a bright Saturday morning. It wasn't a place he was normally at, but there had been a meeting and Shadow was honored to have been asked to attend. He wasn't going to be speaking or doing anything even remotely interesting but he was happy about it. It was just one step closer to becoming something more in Abnegation. One step in the direction of becoming someone who had some influence and could actually make changes in their world. Shadow wanted to help people, he wanted to ease pain and hurt. People could call him a weakling and a stiff all they wanted, he didn't care there were people who needed him.
Shadow had stood in the back and listened quietly as the meeting took place. He watched as all of the factions came together, each of them bringing in only one or two people with them. It was nothing formal, and there were only three brief things that needed to be discussed. The abnegation group he was apart of had came early to set out food and chairs. He had stood patiently and listened the whole time, he took in every motion and every move that the leaders made. He studied them all, eager to be what they were. Even the dauntless and the amity leaders held themselves a certain way, it was all interesting and he took it in silently.
When the meeting was over people gathered a round a moment getting food. They had scheduled the meeting close to lunchtime and the Amity members had brought even more food when they arrived. Shadow, like all of the other Abnegation waited until everyone else had gotten all of their refreshments before walking over to the small table and getting a drink and a sandwich. He balanced it all on the plate and walked over to some chairs that were empty in the front. When he sat down a Candor girl had walked over and said that those seats were spoken for already and so he had mumbled an apology and walked to the back.
The room was fairly crowded and he stood on his toes to look around for an empty seat. When he couldn't find one he resigned to go sit in the back. He was almost there when he tripped over someone's foot which he liked to think was an accident and ended up knocking into someone and spilling some of his drink on them. He immediately began apologizing before he even knew who it was. " I'm so sorry...so, so sorry, it was an accident, I didn't mean to...."

Meetings. Jinx hated the, she hated them even more when the dauntless leader asked for a initiate trainer to go with him. Jinx was the only one who stood up and volunteered. Jinx had wanted to be a dauntless leader but then she thought about her scars that they would see and she knew she would be better of as a trainer. But because she did finish second the dauntless leaders wanted her to go with them, even if she didn't volunteer.
Jinx stood in the back of the room everyone was in. She had one foot on the wall behind her, her arms were crossed and she had her head up high. She scanned the room and saw her brother. She had to restrict herself from going over there and hugging him. He looked good as an abnegation, as a stiff. She sighed quietly and when they were dismissed for food she was the first one out the door.
Getting her food she stood in the back. Her brother and the other stiffs were all last to get their food. She knew that if she waited long enough Shadow would come to the back. She had one foot out and he tripped over it spilling some of his drink on her. She smiled and put her arms around his neck. She didn't care who saw them at that moment but she knew she couldn't hug him for long.
Jinx took her brothers wrist and dragged him into an empty hallway. "Shadow!!"

Shadow was prepared to get pushed, he was prepared to get yelled at but he was not however prepared to be hugged. His eyes widened as a dauntless girl threw her arms around his neck. He thought maybe it was some sort of trick or joke, but as his brain registered who it was he felt himself smiling. "Jinx?" His sister was actually in front of him, and she was actually happy to see him. He had thought about seeing her again of course, but his stomach had always tightened at the thought. He wasn't sure how Dauntless would have changed her, he wasn't sure she would even want to see him. Now however as he felt his arms go around her and hug her tight in return he felt happy, he felt utterly happy.
When she pulled him into the hallway away from the others in the room he was anxious to talk to her. He looked her over briefly, she looked tougher, stronger, and maybe actually happy. He felt himself smiling again and before he could catch himself the old Candor ways of being animated jumped alive inside him and he found himself pulling her back into a hug and speaking quickly. " You look great, it's so good to see you. I wanted to visit a thousand times, but I didn't want you to get into trouble...how are you? what are you doing now...have...."
He quickly glanced away, a little angry that he let himself get so carried away by his old self. That wasn't who he was anymore. He was Abnegation now and he wasn't the one to go talking on and on, he should have showed respect and calmness. He pursed his lips a little and waited for his sister to speak. He dropped his arms from around her and let them fall to his sides. He swallowed a little and tried to remember what he was now, who he was now. This whole transformation was to help people like his sister had needed help, and he wasn't going to achieve anything by not acting the way he was expected to.

Jinx laughed as her brother spoke really fast. she didn't even honestly know what he said. When he pulled her into another hug she hugged him back not wanting to let go. Then he let go and looked upset. She knew he was abnegation now but she missed her old little brother. The one who asked her a thousand questions all the time. He would have fit well in erudite but he chose abnegation.
"first i have no idea what you just said. And two i don't care that you are abnegation your still my little brother." She put a hand on his shoulder hoping he wouldn't see her bruised and cut up knuckles.

Shadow had felt his sister's arms go around him before he had let go and a small part of him felt joy that she hadn't lost all of herself while she had been in Dauntless. He was happily surprised that she had seemed just as eager to see him as he had been to see her. He laughed a little as she mentioned that she didn't understand anything that he just said. It was so hard restraining himself sometimes. So hard to remind himself that he wasn't that loud, constantly talking boy that he used to be. " Sorry, old habits, and while you might not mind the others might, I don't want you getting punished."
He glanced to her hands and noticed she was cut in a few places, he couldn't help but wince when he noticed the bruises. The brother inside him wanted to punch whoever had hurt her, but the Abnegation boy he was now forced himself to be calm, this is what she wanted. It as hard knowing that Jinx chose a faction that was known for violence and aggression, he didn't like to think of anyone hurting his sister. " So, how have you been? Are you happy?" That was his main question. Her happiness. He had seen his sister fight through the pain of a crappy childhood, he didn't want her life to always be like that. He wanted her to be happy, it was what she deserved.
