The grin on her face was reassuring, though he couldn’t tell if she was laughing at him or with him, though he wasn’t laughing so it seemed to be the prior. Ethan had never done anything like this and yet he felt so comfortable holding this complete stranger close, and dancing. This was the most selfish thing he had ever done and he was so excited about that. He returned her grin with a sheepish smile of his own, before breaking into his most recent rant. He was sure that he could do it, that he could dance like any other person who knew how. All he had to do was move his body with hers, seemed simple enough.
Her smile widened before it disappeared as she looked down at her shoes. As she spoke, he laughed softly, he had almost forgotten again that she was Dauntless born. The blonde looked so sweet and soft, but inside she was a trained fighter or at least that’s what she led on. He grimaced at the explanation of the game, Ethan was not exactly fond of any sort of punching or kicking, he had never had to and in candor he would fight with words. Yeah his pretty face was not one for violence, not physical violence anyway. He raised his eyebrows as she smiled again. “Yeah…because that’s a normal game.” He looked down again at her feet, and smirked at her. “Well I’m not gonna try and find out, your feet are safe. I think. I hope.” He looked into her eyes and began to wonder to himself what this young girl had seen, maybe even what she had done.
He followed along intently as she explained what they were going to do next. The grin grew across his face as she asked him not to make fun of her singing, here he was worrying about being the laughing stock and she was asking him not to laugh. She slid her hand to around his waist and remembered that she said that she would guide his body, rhythm yeah…he probably had that. Maybe. “I would be far to scared to tease a former Dauntless” He quipped before she began to sing, and when she did he realized it was a moot point. Her voice was angelic, like something out of a fairy tale. He was mesmerized by the sound and found his body moving on instincts he didn’t know he had. He followed her hand and kept time with the music, he didn’t recognize but it was beautiful and quite catchy. He could have sung along with her if he wasn’t so worried about ruining the sounds she was making. Wow.

Adelaide kept the singing up through the dance and felt Ethan pick up on where he needed to move and when. It was a little rigid between the two, but as she continued on with the music it became a little more relaxed. It was going far better than her first time dancing. She had ended up stepping on feet and knocking into people. Ethan was doing a much better job than she had done and she glanced up into his eyes every now and then. They were dark and deep and she found herself slowly beginning to get lost in them which was odd. She had just met him and they were in completely opposite factions and she really didn't even know him but every time his body moved with hers and every time he grinned and she felt his arm around her she began to forget about those other things and start thinking more of him.
Shockingly the two had moved smoothly with the sound of the music and Adelaide found herself smiling towards the end of the song. Ethan had danced perfectly and she guessed that he probably had better rhythm than he thought. The boy was smooth and light on his feet and she could see him fitting right in with the Amity kids. She had even escaped the ordeal without any foot damage which was always a plus. Adelaide had finished singing and noted that Ethan hadn't made the slightest giggle at her singing which she was semi-self conscious about. She would sing if someone asked her to, or if it was needed but she never willingly volunteered to do it this had been a first for her and she was pleased with how well it had went. Instead of just ending the song and standing there with Ethan in the position they had maintained while dancing she held onto one of his hands and moved out and then turned back into him so his arm was around her. It was just a small little dance move, but it was fun. She laughed and then threw her arms around him for a hug. She was proud of her dancing student and couldn't help the smile that it all brought to her face. " You did fantastic Ethan! It was perfect! And that was the boring dancing style just wait until you have music and can dance quickly and crazily or to something slow with a girlfriend." She smiled playfully.
She didn't know if Candors did much dancing in their compounds or if they had restaurants or dancing places but maybe he'd find somewhere he could use his new talents at. She could have invited him to Amity to one of their get-togethers but she figured he'd be uncomfortable. Amity tended to be a little more open minded with old factions visiting and mixing in to certain extents but the others were usually not. She then realized that not only had she brought up the fact that he might have a girlfriend but also the fact that her arms were still around him and she soon began to blush a little....talk about uncomfortable. She moved her hands from around his neck and laughed a little. " Sorry...it seems I'm the one who can't stop talking now." She smiled a little and looked back up at him.

As they got to what seemed to be the end of the song, Adelaide spun away from him, holding onto his hand and then pulled herself into his chest. They froze there as she finished singing and then she turned and hugged him. He wrapped his arms around her and held her tight, he had grown up in a place where hugs just didn’t happen. Though he didn’t know what he was doing, it felt right. The warmth of her body against his, her arms wrapped tight around his neck. He felt butterflies in his stomach and in the best way imaginable. She pulled away and spoke, he listened intently and felt something catch in his throat when she mentioned a girlfriend. Of course he caught the compliments and her wishful thinking about his future use of the skills he had just obtained.
He returned her smile with one of his own and let it slide into a grin. Sometimes things just happened, even when you least expect them to. Interfaction relations weren’t a thing but Ethan wasn’t one for rules, no matter the amount of sense they might make. There was no way it could happen but still, she was amazing and she made him smile more than anyone or anything had ever been able to.
She began to ramble on, which was his think. She blushed slightly and then apologized for it. He laughed softly, it was adorable. She pulled her arms from around his neck and he nodded at her. “Well I appreciate that and I will be sure to keep that in mind, in case a girlfriend ever comes around” He smiled at her and winked. “As for your singing, wow. Truly beautiful” He was taught to be honest, so god damn he was going to be honest.

Adelaide nodded when he mentioned not having a girlfriend. That made her rest a little easier about dancing with him, although nothing scandalous had happened. Still he was a semi-stranger who had her in his arms, it wasn't like nothing happened, although nothing had happened...if that made any sense. She had blushed and shook her head a little when he commented about her singing. " Thanks, but....I wouldn't really call it beautiful." She wasn't sure beautiful was the word...there were so many other singers in Amity who had much better voices than she did. She was good at counseling, she would give herself that...but singing was just a random hobby. Something she didn't feel all that confident in, but if asked she might. She thought about the last time she had been asked to sing...other than this one of course. She had a small little play and she had been invited to sing at the harvest get-together as well. The harvest festival, of course!
Adelaide's eyes lit up as she remembered the festival, her face suddenly filling with excitement. " Oh I just remembered!" She grinned happily at him, dragging on the surprise aspect of what she was saying. She swayed a little in place like a child with a secret and then smiled brightly " Amity hosts a harvest festival every year and it's this weekend, you should come. Outside factions are invited and there'll be dancing and laughing, and just a good time." She wasn't sure if that would even be something that he was interested in considering how it would mostly be Amity and not many Candors, but he was always welcome to invite others plus she thought it might be good for him to meet new people, especially people as friendly and caring as those of Amity. " You should come." She smiled again and waited on his answer.
