personality: Thought it said, 'Keep it brief.' Loud, silly, opinionated, can lighten up most situations. Very talkative, Troublemaker. She's rather cowardly and will drag other people into her situations and get them in trouble, too- she doesn't have bad intentions for them, but she panics and doesn't want to get in trouble. She's very cheerful & optomistic, like most Amity, and tries her best to look at the bright side in every situation- good or bad. She loves gardening and hopes to build a big, colorful one when she has a house of her own in Amity territory. Alice is extremely opinionated and will never be afraid to voice this opinion. The 16-year-old Amity girl is a very good friend, despite her talkativeness and troublemaker attitude, and is one you want to stick around with. Alice both loves and hates passionately, however, but can never hold a grudge longer than a day. She trusts and falls in love easily which often hurts her in the end.

history: Alice was born in the faction Candor to parents Laila and Andrew. Andrew was a transfer from Erudite and Laila was born and raised in Candor, choosing to stay there to be with her family at the choosing ceremony. She grew up with many friends, but she often lied to get out of trouble, and as a child was always getting in trouble for it. So Alice didn't choose to stay with her sister and parents, she chose Amity because she felt a natural calling to it- how they were self-sufficient, not relying on any other faction for their needs, how peaceful they seemed to be- and so far she is happy with her choice.
Alice watched as her sister got up from her seat, walking to the bowls containing lit coal, stones, soil, glass, and water. She watched with true sorrow and heartache as her sister slit her palm and let a few drops fall slowly into the bowl containing shards of glass- meaning Candor, their home faction. She waited a few minutes until the Dauntless representative called out her name:
"Underwood, Alice. Candor."
She nervously stood up, hand shaking with nervousness. She was actually a little bit of slitting her hand, too- so nervous that she wasn't thinking and she cut it open a little bit too deep and wide. Blood already began to drip out, so she needed to make her decision quickly- would she be in Candor, with her family and friends? Or Amity, perhaps, where she truly felt like she belonged- but had no friends or family there. She ran over quickly and clumsily and tilted her hand so the blood fell into the soil with a quiet drip sound. The Dauntless representative raised an eyebrow, most likely questioning Alice's sanity, she thought. She ran quickly over to the Amity group, taking a last look at her family. She wished she could be with them.
