POET MINERVA FOX-- TWENTY -- ABNEGATION full name: Poet Minerva Fox nicknames: Minnie (by her mother), Fox (for everyone else) age: 20 faction birthplace: tba current faction: Abnegation sexuality: Heterosexual occupation: Volunteer Worker play by: Nicole Gale Anderson
personality: Poet isn’t your run of the mill Abnegation – though she doesn’t set herself too much apart from the others. She tends to be a quiet, awkward sort of person – not exactly mousy but the not the bravest either. She tends to jump to conclusions rather fast and can get rather stressed out if things go less than satisfactory. However, she’s still kindhearted and very forgiving - and works very hard for her faction. She can become rather pessimistic however but keeps most of her negative comments to herself – nothing really bad about anyone else, their mostly harsh words about herself.
One big thing that affects Poet is her fear of boys – she’s not sure how to handle them. Older men are fine, seeing as she no problems with her adopted uncle Victor but those around her age cause her get nervous and if she can – she’ll attempt to runaway and hide. Despite this, she is increasingly fond of animals – and isn’t afraid to sneak some home either. She’s a little too careful when it comes to her work and likes to keep things practical. Poet can be a little off and has some issues with OCD. She has to have everything neat and in a certain way or it bothers her.
Despite not really having much to say – she does have a pretty good sense of humor. She was quite the tease growing up and wanted nothing more than to have fun. As she grew older however, she decided she had to put away childish things – at least away from the eyes of the Abnegation. In her own home however, she’s free to be herself behind closed doors. A very clever and intelligent young woman – you’d wonder why she didn’t choose Erudite. To be honest Poet wasn’t fond of their views of the factionless and would much prefer helping those in need instead of inventing something for their means.
Poet loves to read and write – and has several second hand books in her home, though she never lets anyone see them. A very imaginative person, she used to write short stories in her teens and has since kept them in an organized manner underneath a few of her favorite books. She can’t get a hold of a book very often however, so she tends to reread the ones she has. Poet can’t cook very well though but her cleaning skills are certainly supreme. She tends to clean a lot when she’s worried about something, resulting in her home being spotless a majority of the time.
Making friends was never her strong point to be honest – she has a tendency to over thinks things and blurt out random thoughts. Poet is a very honest person for the most part – but she is far from naïve. She understands greatly about the politics surrounding the factions and is well aware of what the factions think about each other. Though it seems rather unlikely that they’d all eventually get along, she kind of wished they would. Poet prefers to stay within Abnegation most of the time – wandering out means danger.
And danger has never bode well for her, especially growing up. As a child she had been a rather reckless person and happened to get injured a lot. Normally just scratches and bruises – but once she slammed her head into the pavement after leaping off a ledge. Ever since then she has been afraid to take risks and chances. Her head wasn’t too bad, merely a concussion, but the thought of possibly dying had scared her so bad that she couldn’t be that way anymore. So these days she’s a different Poet – kind, thoughtful, selfless and safe.
mother: Anthea Melisande Fox - Factionless father: Unknown siblings: n/a other: Victor Caldwell (adopted uncle) – Abnegation, Jordana Caldwell (adopted aunt) - Abnegation history:
Poet was born to Anthea Fox in the last weeks of summer. Her mother had become factionless after she transferred from Erudite to Dauntless, and failed to surpass phase two of initiation. Her nickname had been Fox and after falling below the red line and being cast out, she began using it as her last name. A few years later, Poet was born and Anthea basically raised her by herself. Being factionless, she couldn’t offer her daughter much besides knowledge, so Anthea taught her everything she knew.
