Parker had just sat down to eat when he saw her again, the redhead. She was walking quickly and he knew he didnt have time to waste, he jumped out of his chair and left his tray on the table. Jogging after her, until he was grabbed by his collar, he turned to say O'Brien, a monster of a man who was well known for disliking initiates. "Where you off to initiate? It's not okay for you to just leave your tray." He spat at him through quite a lot of muscles and bad breath. Parker gave him a smile and chuckled. "See funny thing. I have a lesson and forgot, so i'm kind of in a hurry" Parker went to leave again and O'Brien slammed him into the table, still holding the collar of his shirt. "Wow you have anger issues." Parker spoke quickly and while he could now see the veins popping out of the behemoth's forehead, he reached with his might for the tray that had been his. As O'Brien leaned back to punch him, Parker grabbed the tray and slapped him with it. Luckily for Parker the trays were metallic, also lucky for Parker, he was thin and quick. He took off with a laugh. "See ya later princess" He turned to see O'Brien beginning to stand. "Oh shit" He mumbled to himself before running again. He ran towards the hallway he had seen the redhead turn down, if he had lost her again he was going to punch O'Brien, at least in his mind, in person seemed like a bad idea. He made the turn and saw that he had two options and neither seemed more likely than the other. Thats when it hit him, the agonizingly sweet and incredible smell. It smelled like heaven and he knew it must be hers, he ran down the one hallway and the smell disappeared, so he tried the other. The smell was faint but definitely stronger than the other way. He took off running down the hall, it cut hard to the left and opened again on the other side, as he reached the next intersection he saw a flash of red. It had to be her, the elusive redhead. He took off down the hallway, nearly tripping over himself as he could feel himself catching up to her. It all started last week, he had been walking with his sister when he saw her. They were trying to get in some extra practice in the training room, since neither was doing all that well in the rankings. Then she walked past them, in a hurry and didnt even glance their way, but Parker saw her. He had taken a step to say something but his sister pulled him by his ear. The next day he saw her as he was mid-fight, he got knocked out cold because he was watching her hips sway instead of Payton's foot swinging toward his ear. Finally he had seen her again yesterday, he was walking to get some dinner. In particular he was crossing past the Chasm. He saw her and his instinct told him to go towards her as quick as possible, which caused him to slip and almost fall into the chasm. This girl was going to be the death of him but he had to meet her, there was just something about her. He cut down another hallway and was in sight of her, just a few yards behind her. Though now he had no idea what he would say to her, currently he was just stalking her throughout the Dauntless compound. She cut down another corridor and he took off faster to get to the corner, he wasnt about to lose her now. He had heard all his life that the best part of a relationship was the chase, god he hoped they were wrong. Tag: Teagan R. Grant

A few errands to run in the afternoon weren’t a big deal for Teagan Grant. In fact, sometimes she liked getting out of the security office. Looking at monitors all day had her head spinning. Looking up, she observed one of the cameras that was pointed down the long corridor and took a note on her clipboard to get it adjusted so it pointed a little bit further to the left. There was no point in them wasting a camera on the wall. She was close to the dining hall and heard the sounds of a few people eating - Tea would probably grab something a little later, she reasoned.
She peered into the room, eyes scanning the crowds of people until she heard a voice. O’Brien. Teagan heard him going on about something as their eyes locked for a split second. As she turned away from the hall, a prickle running down her spine almost instantaneously. She was fairly certain that O’Brien had a thing for her - a very terrifying thing considering he looked like he could snap her in half with his pinkie finger. Gulping, she scurried down the hall, determined to get back to the Security room before O’Brien realized that it was her that she had seen.
Turning a few corners, Teagan suddenly became aware that she could hear someone’s footsteps behind her. Now they were to her left - she turned her head ever so slightly so see if she could make out who it was, but they were constantly missing her. Cocking her head slightly to the side, the red-head picked up her pace...if it was O’Brien following her, she was in for a problem. Sure, she had made it through combat training last year when she was initiated, but she had never been the best at it. And on top of that, O’Brien was about three times the size of the petite girl. She reached a corner and slammed her back against the wall, pressing her clipboard against her chest, her breathing staggered.
Count to three. Count to three. She could feel her breath catch in the throat and for a moment she didn’t think that she was going to be able to do it. One. Two. Three. Tea spun around the corner, her hands poised in fists as she stared down the boy - so obviously not O’Brien - that she was now face-to-face with. It wasn’t O’Brien at all, but one of the younger initiates. Parker, the Erudite. Sweet, kind, and had gotten his ass kicked by Payton McHale a couple of days ago. Not a lot went unnoticed by Grant, “Hi.” Immediately she felt her face contort in confusion, then she realized she was standing there looking like a fool,“Initiate!” Teagan slammed her hands down to her side and then looked him up and down. He had such a sweet face and the glasses - the glasses were cute. Immediately Tea realized that she had been staring far too long and things were getting slightly awkward, “Would you like to explain why you’ve been chasing me down the halls? Hardly proper protocol.” She could only imagine what they would look like on the security tape - probably like a pair of chickens running around with their heads cut off.

Parker hit his stride, he knew she couldn’t be too far ahead. He saw the corner and got ready to cut hard, but abruptly stopped at the sight of the red head getting ready to hit him. He tried to stop as fast as he could worried he would run into her. He screamed quickly and as he tried to stop, his legs went out from under him and he fell onto his back. He was looking straight up towards the beautiful red head. He truthfully was just hoping he didn’t just wet himself out of fear. He cleared his throat and gave an embarrassed smile. “Hey there” He let his voice rise and then fall, squinting through his glasses, wishing he could just close his eyes and disappear.
He watched as she dropped her fighting stance, clearly she was anticipating someone else. Possibly someone much bigger and manlier who could probably eat Parker, like the guy he had just smashed with the tray. Damn that was cool as shit, why couldn’t he get credit for that when it comes to the rankings. He fixed his glasses, which he was still wearing even with Calista’s warning, and refocused on the woman standing over him. Her long hair falling over her shoulder, her pink lips drawing his eyes in. They were moving and he should’ve been listening.
“Chasing you” He laughed, maybe a bit too forced, but he had to figure out a way out of this. He closed his eyes and slapped the ground. “No of course I’m not chasing you, that would be weird and completely inappropriate. I was…just trying to get here quickly. To this place. The…” He looked around for a sign, or anything that might tell him where the hell he was. That’s when he looked back at her, trying to remember what it was that she did for a job. When he awoke he had asked Lucas who she was, he told him…damn what did he say. Right. Got it. “Control room. It’s seems…uh so interesting,,,I was hoping to walk around and check it out” He grinned up at her and decided it was time to get up. He pushed himself onto his hands and then jumped up, landing a bit too close to her. “Not chasing. Uh personal space, sorry.” He stepped back and rubbed his hands together, wow he was awkward. A whole new level of awkward.

He looked back at her, a smile on his lips as he practically croaked out an answer to her greeting from his new position on the floor at her feet. Somehow he had managed to land himself on the ground. Teagan tried her hardest not to smile at him or let him know that this was nearly excruiatingly funny...especially since he wasn’t O’Brien...but she kept her composure. She was a security tech, not someone to be messed with. She would admit - she had noticed Parker before in the initiate training room...he was always tripping over himself or doing something to get himself in trouble and she had always found it rather adorable...erm, well adorable in a sort of awkward way. He didn’t seem to realize how to function as a normal Dauntless, which Tea thought was amusing.
“Chasing me? That’s so weird, you-” Tea pressed her fingers to her lips, trying her hardest not to laugh. It had been obvious that someone had been chasing her, she just hadn’t expected it to be Evans. He continued to ramble on, eventually settling on the excuse that he had been looking for the Control Room. The red-head raised her eyebrows as she watched him continue to fumble over his words.
“Not chasing.” She repeated, taking an immediate step backwards so they weren’t as close. Maybe he was delusional...had he hit his head on the floor? Teagan had no idea how to care for medical wounds...that was absolutely not her department, “Well, Mr. Not-Chasing-No-Regard-For-Personal-Space-” She looked down at the watch that was on her right wrist and sighed, transferring her clipboard from one hand to the other, “I happen to have a little bit of extra time and I could probably show you around. It’s actually quite interesting from a technological stand-point, a lot of people don’t really get all the logistics but I, personally find that our security systems is one of the top in the City and-” She was rambling, perhaps even worse than Parker had been a few moments ago, “Right. Let’s go, initiate.”
She pushed the heavy door of the central control room open and stepped through, motioning for Parker to follow her, “I’m Teagan, by the way. One of the head control room analysts and part of the security detail.” She flipped her red braid over her shoulder as she spoke, obviously proud of her accomplishments. After all, it wasn’t often that a factionless made it so far in an actual faction.

Parker was caught or so it seemed, but the redhead didn’t seem to want to murder him, at least not yet. But looking at her he got a bit worried, if she threw a punch he would probably get knocked right the hell out. As he stood up and spoke, she repeated him which only added to the stuttering and nervousness that was typical of Parker Evans. He had no idea what this young lady across from him was named but he was ninety percent sure she had no idea what his name was. She raised her eyebrows and he thought for sure that he was caught, without a doubt. Then she addressed him with a name that he would be totally cool with being called for the rest of his life as long as she was the one speaking to him.
She was offering him a tour, he had no desire to actually look around the control room but who could turn down a tour from this stunning beauty. He found it adorable to watch her ramble on about the control room and how great it is. This must be what its like when he would go off on one of his tangents, tripping over himself prior to falling on his face. Though he doubted she would fall, that would be trouble. He nodded when she said let’s go, and then frowned a bit when she said initiate again. “It’s Evans Parker. Parker.” He cleared his throat and took a deep breath. “Parker. Evans.” He shook his head and then followed her.
He made his way through to the heavy doors as they were swinging shut strong. “Teagan, wow that’s, that’s really pretty.” He cleared his throat, really Parker pretty. Who the hell are you? She flipped her hair over her shoulder and almost smacked him in the face, he ducked underneath of it just in time and then almost walked into a wall of metallic shelving. “That’s impressive. You are so young” His compliments were ridiculous and soon Parker was just going to throw himself off the chasm. One day he would learn to shut the hell up.

Evans. Parker. Parker. Parker. Evans. Teagan raised both of her eyebrows again, trying hard to keep a straight face as she walked through another set of double doors into the Control Room center. He was an odd one and apparently had a hard time remembering his own name.
She turned ever so slightly so she could eye him with her peripheral vision as he mentioned that her name was really pretty. There was a bit of a blush on her cheeks now - she wasn’t sure that anyone had ever said that to her before. Sure, there were a few guys that were after her - namely O’Brien...but none of them had ever seemed so sincere in their compliments. It was more of a rough and tumble prove that I’m worthy of Teagan Grant by beating someone else up, or getting her name tattooed on their ass. Oh who was she kidding? Evans. Erm...Parker was weird. So weird. And so incredibly awkward, “Thanks - it was my grandmother’s name.” But was it cute awkward? She cocked her head slightly as she continued walking.
That was at the precise moment that she flipped her hair and turned so she was marching forward again. It was only after a spit second that she heard the vibration of something hitting the shelving unit on their right that she turned around and stopped completely. He had managed to run into the wall and practically impale himself on the shelf. Her eyes were wide - he was quite possibly the most clumsy person that she had ever seen in her entire life and that was saying something considering she had come from a Factionless upbringing, “I’m not that young.” She retorted, suddenly fixing her black tank top and readjusting the braid that she had once been flinging behind her, “I’m seventeen, thank you very much.”
Perfect. She had stopped at a nearly perfect place where they could look into one of the main rooms. On the far wall, there were screens that took up the entire area - it was her sanctuary. She could see everything from there, “This is the main control room. The fence, Hub, Abnegation, Ground level of Dauntless-” She pointed to each of the screens as she called it out, her green eyes wandering over each sector. That was how she knew him. There was a screen on the training room. Teagan didn’t get out a lot and sometimes it felt as if she was living her life through these tiny screens, “I make sure everything is going according to plan, send orders down the chair of command, you know, very important technical stuff. Nothing would get done without me.” Slowly she took a step inside the room, eyes now glued to the computer that was constantly spitting out long lines of code. It was all reports from around the different Factions - only understood by someone who had been trained. She was always looking for their names - always scanning for them, “Any questions so far, Evans? -Erm. Initiate?”

Parker’s ears perked up, did she really just thank him for the compliment about her name. Internally there were fist pumps and a small party occurring, it was a sad victory but it was most definitely a victory for him. The idea of something that simple having that kind of an impact was upsetting but Parker was still young and this redhead was worth dying for. He just smiled at her, not responding in the slightest but the smile meant nothing as she was walking in front of him. Which honestly may have been for the best, seeing how he was grinning like an idiot. Sometimes his mind wanted to leave the rest of his awkward body behind, it was frustrating being Parker Evans.
Parker was a pretty smart guy, and he knew a lot about the specifics of different types of metal. He now knew exactly how bad it hurt to run face first into it. He caught the brunt of it on the chin, he shook it out and then quickly checked for blood on his chin. He seemed to be okay, and she didn’t seem to notice. Or maybe he that was just wishful thinking. Either way he would pretend it didn’t happen.
She didn’t seem to like the idea of being called young, he was sure that she had been talked down to and dealt with the qualms that go along with power at a young age. He would definitely not be pushing that issue at all. “Sorry. Didn’t mean to offend you, it truly is impressive” He smiled meekly and followed her onto the cameras.
“Wow” He found the sight to be unbelievably impressive, every instance in the the city all happening on one wall. You could see everything from here. He followed her from screen to screen, seeing all of the factions. He listened to her talk, she was proud of her work and he had to be honest, he understood why. But she seemed to have a bit of a complex, like she seemed to be undervalued to the Dauntless hierarchy and was sick of it. He understood the feeling, he had felt it all his life. “Wow the entire city at your helm. You weren’t kidding” He looked on in awe, this was truly amazing. The entire city ran through here, you could see anyone at any time. She asked a question and he smiled, she had used his name even if it was only for a second. “I..well…yeah what’s the coolest thing you’ve seen on here?”

‘Wow.’
There was something so gratifying about someone else sharing her love for what was before her. Something so incredibly satisfying knowing that she wasn’t the only one who appreciated the security detail. She stood there for a few moments, eyes trained on the screens as she watched movement from one sector to the others. Parker seemed to be doing the same thing when she looked over at him, a small smile on the corner of her lips. Maybe he wasn’t just a weird initiate after all...if he could appreciate what she was doing up here, there might be hope for him yet.
He said wow again and this time Teagan reached up and covered her mouth, disguising her laughter as a causal cough until she gained her composure. For as dorky as this one seemed, he certainly had a way of making someone laugh. She watched the smile spreading across his lips and decided that her attention was best used elsewhere, not staring at the poor initiate as he practically blushed in front of her.
She realized that one of the cameras had been misaligned in the Dauntless sector, pushing it out of view of the corridor that it was supposed to be monitoring. She cocked her head slightly to the side, moderately put off that it had moved. She made it her personal duty to keep everything correct and this was incredibly wrong. Teagan leaned forward and typed in a few lines of code to move one of the cameras a few feet to the left so it was centered once again. Probably just one of the initiates screwing around and kicking a ball or something. Maybe even the Dauntless kids, “Sorry what-” She realized as she looked up what it was that he had been asking her.
Standing straight up, she put her hands on the back of the chair that was normally in front of the computer and racked her brain for the most interesting thing that she had ever seen. There had been a few gruesome instances...like the one with the girl jumping off the train. A few others like that crossed through the screens over the past year, “Once I saw O’Brien’s ex-girlfriend beat the shit out of him in that corridor.” She pointed toward one of the screens on the outer edge of the monitors, “Not so high and mighty now, is he? It was hilarious. She’s got a killer right hook.”
Leaning down again, she smiled as she typed in another few lines of code, initiating the facial recognition system and typing in O’Brien’s name. Immediately a few of the screens were replaced by a loop of O’Brien and his girlfriend in the hallway. He leaned forward to kiss her and she went in for the kill, claws out. She folded her arms across her chest as she smirked to herself, wincing ever so slightly as O’Brien took a serious punch to the chin, “Yikes. I’ve learned a couple cool tricks over the years, but I’d say this one takes the cake. Anyone - any time - all their data.”

Parker quickly realized that she had not heard his question, she was typing away so fast there was no humanly possible way she had been paying attention to what he was saying as well. He quickly glanced over her shoulder noticing that the code was long and full of detail, but he had spent many of days coding in Erudite and recognized that she was repositioning one of the cameras, he looked up along the wall just in time to see the camera swing back into position. It was only a few feet but it was where it was supposed to be, it provided a full view of the hallway and he now understood the specifics to which she was referring to. He could get used to a job like this, especially one that involved seeing her everyday. As he shook that thought away it seemed she realized he was still in the room.
He smiled sheepishly as she question what he had asked her, reaffirming that she hadn’t heard him. He cleared his throat and spoke again. “Whats the...the coolest thing you’ve seen?” She definitely heard him this time and her face was immediately filled with thought. After a few seconds she gave her response and he couldn’t help but chuckle, he hadn’t expected that to be her response. O’Brien getting his ass kicked may have made his day, no year to see that happen. Maybe this control room was fate calling to him, a job he could do and do well, all he had to do was survive initiation. Something that was looking more and more unlikely, especially since he was sure the same musclehead would be looking to beat the hell out of him for that tray slapping incident. “That’s wonderful, maybe she can teach me. I’m gonna need it now.” He realized that she didn’t know what the hell he was talking about but he chose to ignore that fact because, because well all he did was ramble and he didn’t need to explain that the whole thing had started when he had started running after the cute redhead.
As she pulled up the clip, Parker could almost feel the punches as they landed. He winced and groaned as if he was the one feeling the pain. “Look I can not stand that guy but no one deserves that.” He paused for a second. “Who am I kidding this is amazing” He laughed and then heard her explain how she did it. “Really? That’s…scary. Truly frightening but awesome in the same sense” He laughed and looked back in the screen, he didn’t want her to search him. It would be a lot of him getting his ass kicked. He didn’t need to watch that back in replay.
