TEAGAN RAE GRANT -- 17 -- DAUNTLESS full name: teagan rae grant nicknames: tea age: seventeen faction birthplace: factionless current faction: dauntless sexuality: heterosexual occupation: control room worker, security play by: holland roden
personality:
Teagan has quite the curious personality - she likes to know everything about everyone’s business and isn't afraid to ask questions that other people might generally find a little too personal. In her own way, she's Dauntless' own gossip - always trying to get the scoop on everyone else. She’s headstrong and mild-tempered. Ever since she was a child, she has been rather bubbly and full of life and - even though she’s moved from Factionless to Dauntless - she hasn’t lost her sense of self. She’s very much the same young red-head that came from just about nothing and has managed to blossom into something incredible. Tea’s rather intelligent, having a knack for coding and an innate knowledge of the security system used in the Dauntless Control Room. More often than not, she keeps her smarts to herself and contained within the eighth floor control room.
mother: Andrea Grant, 37, Factionless - Former Dauntless father: Kurt Grant, 45, Factionless - Former Dauntless siblings: Nolan Grant, 14, Factionless-Born other: -- history:
Factionless children were a rarity - but not entirely uncommon. Andrea and Kurt - ex-members of the Dauntless faction who didn’t make it through initiation - met and formed a civil union of sorts in the factionless part of The City. When their first child, Teagan was born, they were exstatic. Life in the factionless sector was no walk in the park, but being factionless had its perks. Tea never knew that there was something else out there. Her parents tried their best to keep her sheltered from the rest of the world, although she heard stories from the rest of the factionless. However, being without a faction meant that they could raise her in any way that they saw fit - which was one of the reasons that they didn’t make in in Dauntless.
Teagan was headstrong and always asked questions - she hungered for knowledge from the rest of the factionless, always asking them about their lives before they ended up here. She was a light-hearted and buoyant child, but her parents could tell that she wanted more. There was only so much that the factionless could provide for her. They were beginning to form as a society, but they were no where near as developed as the rest of the factions.
Given a chance at another life, Teagan took it. Life was too short to live on the outskirts of a society that she longed to be a part of, so she managed to contact the Erudite Leader who ran the Choosing Ceremony and managed to secure herself a spot in the ceremony. Standing alone in front of the five faction bowls, Teagan let her blood drip into Dauntless; the faction that her parents didn’t make it in, but she longed to be a part of.
The initiation period was an invigorating time for Teagan. She kept her head down, staying to herself because she was factionless. Although she was a part of Dauntless now, she still felt like the outcast that she had been for her entire life. Her fighting was sub-par, her ability to reason her way out of her fear-landscape left something to be desired, but it was her ability to recall minute details that did her the best. Tea came in right on top of the ranking line, barely making it through initiation, meaning she was one of the last to choose her job. Fortunately for her, there was an extra spot left in the Security department, which got her out of becoming a fence guard.
Teagan’s got quite the knack for code and remembering the security details of the Dauntless compound. She loves her job and spends most of her time in the Dauntless Control Room. Sometimes she spends hours watching the Factionless areas, always keeping an eye out for her parents and her brother, Nolan, hoping to catch a glimpse of the life that she left behind.
