Cas has always been her parents’ golden child, the ideal Erudite, and the daughter that they always wished their other children could act like. In her parents eyes, she is beautiful and perfect - always with the proper come-back and return to any argument or insult. She’s smart, witty, and calculating. Cas is quick to rebuttal and even quicker to challenge everyone else on what they think to be true. She believes what she believes and nothing will ever change that - therefore, when people don’t agree with her, she is quick to attempt to get them to change their minds.
Cas can also come across as very manipulative. She knows how to work people, developing a strong sense for their strengths and weaknesses and then using them against them if she deems it necessary. In this respect, she often comes off as unfeeling - even when her own sister left to Dauntless, she didn’t shed a tear or bat an eyelash.
Like every Erudite, she has a supreme need to know as much as she can and is constantly in the pursuit of knowledge, especially when it comes to science and her career. She’s very ambitious and driven and will stop at nothing to climb to the top of the Erudite social hierarchy.

Cassandra and Cali never got along, they constantly butted heads, with Calista often bringing it to a physical level much to the chagrin of her parents. Cas knew which buttons to push, exactly what to say to drive her sister insane, but as soon as she would lash out, the blonde Rosangel sister would play it off like Cali had been the instigator. Her smart-assed and witty remarks always were a source of annoyance for the younger Rosangel sibling. Cas recognized the companionship between Cali and Christopher, and she always felt like a bit of an outsider...She was never close with either one of them, instead, playing up to her parents expectations.
When time for her Choosing ceremony came around, Cas knew exactly where she belonged: Erudite, through and through. Immediately, she began training to become one of the leading Erudite Chemists and scientists. Studying for her initiate testing at home was when she heard the news. Apparently Cali and Chris had been in an accident, some sort of fire had broken out in the labs. Christopher was dead...
From that moment on, the older Rosangel sister never forgave her younger sibling. Cas initiated ignoring her, never acknowledging when she came home from school or when she spoke to the rest of them. Although she knew it had probably been an accident, it was easier for her to blame Calista then to forgive and forget. Their parents seemed to be following suit as well, leaving their youngest daughter out to dry. She passed her initiate test and went on to train with the scientists in the Erudite sector, working on developing more advanced and fast working serums.
When Cali chose Dauntless, it didn’t come as much of a surprise to any of the Rosangel family. Honestly, Cas was glad to get her out of their happy home...without Cali, they could be normal again and try and rebuild after Chris’ death. For the last couple of years, Cas has been living with her parents still, trying to fill the hole in their heart that was left when Chris died. She’s been working in the labs trying to perfect the serums and devotes most of her time to her work. Eventually, she hopes to become a government representative and eventually be the Erudite leader.
