MAX A. PIERCE-- 22 -- FACTIONLESS full name: max arian pierce nicknames: max age: 22 faction birthplace: abnegation current faction: factionless (former dauntless transfer) sexuality: heterosexual occupation: errand boy play by: max irons
personality: two dominant character traits which describe him the best would be arrogance and rebelliousness. he does not like to listen to others and was always getting into trouble and fights when he was younger. he still is. one thing he is sure of that the faction system is bs. he doesn't trust the factions and the leaders. although becoming factionless was never planned he doesn't regret it. it helped him getting a better view of the whole system. he thinks he is better than others even though he doesn't belong to a faction and is pretty confident about himself too.
even though he left his birth faction abnegation he is not as selfish as others would think. it is actually a trait which has ever been part of him. ever since he is factionless he shared his food and clothing with other factionless who needed it more than him. he cares about others more than it seems. that boy is a hard-working individual who takes every job he can get. running around every day because he has so much energy. he is pretty optimistic albeit losing his faction and family.
he is a risk-taker meaning that even if there is something others would never do, something dangerous for example, he would still do it. his stubborness adds to it. adventures are something that make life interesting. sneaking into other faction sectors without official permission.
mother: elena pierce father: lenox pierce siblings: erika pierce (younger sister) other: n/a history: Max was born into Abnegation but his life was definitely not plain. Well, part of it was but the other part was the total opposite. He always listened to his parents and showed no signs of being rebellious until the age of 12. He would start asking questions, talk during meal times without permissions and sneak into his parents room which had the only mirror on the house to look at his reflection. Nevertheless, his parents never scolded him.
At the age of 16 he took the aptitude test but instead of doing what his parents would have done he did the exact opposite. It was no wonder his result was dauntless. Grabbing the knife and hurling himself at the dog was much more exciting than giving him the cheese. He didn't even know dogs would want to eat that. On Choosing Day he let the blood drop on the hot coals smiling at his parents who just stared blankly at him. Only his sister returned his smile - she was the only one who visited him at Visiting Day.
Everything the Dauntless did fascinated the young initiate. He jumped on and off the train with pleasure and let himself fall into the hole while laughing like a maniac. It was everything he had dreamed off. His life as a stiff was officially over. Max had no trouble adjusting to their life, although sometimes the guilt of leaving his family gnawed at him.
Everything seemed fine until the last day of the first stage of initiation. There was this one initiate he liked and cared about, so he always secretely helped her, but when the rankings were shown she was right below the line of those who passed. Which meant she had to leave. He didn't know what to do so he tried asking the leader to help her and make her ranking higher but he wouldn't do that. No, he even laughed at him for even asking. It made Max furious, so furious he started a fight with the leader and ended up getting beaten badly. And then he made the ultimate sacrifice for her sake. He left. With him gone her rank would go up and she would pass.
Now he was factionless. At first he was confused. . .he didn't know what to do now. But he was still a fighter - strong and hard-working. He got a job and adjusted to his new life - to a life without a faction, without society.
