Candor was founded on the basis of honesty, a quality that Blair Pratt doesn’t seem to possess. She’s loud and outspoken, however, some of the things that come out of her mouth aren’t always the truth. She’s hiding a dark secret - her has been sexually abusing her since she was younger and tried to push her out of the Faction in order to keep his secret. Exposing her father, a long-standing and well-respected politician, both frightens and exhilarates Blair. She enjoys the thrill of the chase and often finds herself wanting to try dangerous and daring things, despite the fact that it might be frowned upon by the rest of her faction. She used to play a lot of what they called baseball with her brother Cameron when they were younger - she loved the athleticism of it all. Blair is also easily amused when it comes to other people in her faction; she’s always interested in what other people in her faction think and even more interested in how she can combat their opinions with her own.

Blair was the youngest born of Analisa and Zachary Pratt. She grew up with two twin older brothers, Cameron and Joshua who were four years older than her. The Pratt household was never dull - a plethora of independent thoughts were always buzzing around. Blair was one of the loudest of them all, never afraid to voice her opinions and challenge her brothers when she deemed fit. Her mother worked as a lawyer in Candor while her father represented their Faction as a very high up official in the Courts and Government systems. They were a family that was well-known, well-respected, and readily in the eyes of the rest of the Factions.
When she was younger, her father used to visit her in the middle of the night - he used to tell her that he was going to tell her a story, but slowly and surely his hand would creep up her thigh and before she knew it, she was being abused in a manner that destroyed her ability to reason clearly. These ambushes continued for years, even increased in frequency when her brothers chose other factions than Candor. Blair’s been harboring the secret ever since - holding it in in a society which deems keeping secrets as immoral and wrong.
When she turned 16 and at the completion of her Aptitude Test, Blair kept her results a secret. They had shown an affinity for Dauntless just like her brother Cameron, but she knew better than to tell her parents that she didn’t belong in Candor. She was the last of the Pratt children left and felt obligated to stay with them...no matter what the situation was at home. So she lied - again - for the countless time in her life as an ‘honest’ citizen. She told them the results were undeniably Candor.
When her Choosing day came around, much to her surprise Zachary urged Blair to choose a different Faction. “Anything but Candor, little one,” He told her as he brushed some of her blonde hair away from her face and planted a sickly kiss on her forehead. It wasn’t until later that it would dawn on Blair that her father risked exposure if she stayed in their Faction. At the end of the initiate period of Candor, they were required to take truth serum and answer a series of personal questions that would make them a full member of society. That day, standing in front of the different bowls, Blair wasn’t sure what she was going to do until the minute that her blood dripped into Candor. She wanted to make her father pay for all those years of kept secrets, even if it meant going against her aptitude.
