CALISTA LEILA ROSANGEL -- 19 -- DAUNTLESS full name:Calista Leila Rosangel nicknames:Cali, Rose age:19 faction birthplace: Erudite current faction:Dauntless sexuality: female occupation: weapon maker/shop owner play by: Emily Rudd
personality: Calista is a girl of cold fire. She's normally calm, calculated and observant, just as most Erudite. But she has a certain ferocity and temper. She has a brash, blunt attitude that would be enough to edge anyone out of her life. Do not get on her bad side. Rather than snap back, Calista's anger is a silent "I can and will kill you" glare as she plots your demise. She acts confident and relies on her abilities and intelligence to get herself out of any situation.
Despite her flaws, Calista is passionate and a hard worker, she constantly gives her all. She's immensely loyal and protective, and she won't hesitate to do whatever it takes to protect those she loves.
She is secretly very self- conscious about her results, she wonders if she should be in Dauntless considering her results and has the constant desire to prove herself. She doesn't want to get close anyone, as she's afraid of being hurt again. She believes that if she doesn't get attached, she won't have to watch them eventually leave. Although she would never say it, she does blame herself for the accident and she believes she should have been the one who died, rather than her brother. Its due to this belief that she slips into minor depressions, and has alcoholic tendencies when she does or she disappears into training or into her shop and won't be seen for at least a full day. She prefers to keep her emotions to herself, as she believes its weak to let herself break down In short, she's just a hot mess.
mother: Clarissa Rosangel father: Carson Rosangel siblings: Christopher Rosangel Cassandra Rosangel other: history: Calista was born into the Erudite faction, the youngest child in the Rosangel family. Her siblings, Cassandra and Christopher were the golden children. Perfect in possibly every way. Cassandra and Calista never got along, they constantly butted heads, with Calista often bringing it to a physical level much to the chargein of her parents. She was immensely close with her elder brother, however. She always followed him everywhere, read over his shoulder and they were as close as siblings could be. She idolized him.
As Calista got older, her siblings both chose Erudite. The pressure was on for her. When she was 13, she was memorizing the periodic table with her brother while he worked on an experiment. She grew bored and began looking over the various chemicals, and then she didn't know what happened. She doesn't know if she broke a bottle, or if her brother's experiment went wrong, but all of the sudden fire began spreading around the room. She heard her brother yelling for her, but couldn't see him, she struggled towards the door and when she got out, the room exploded. Calista was burned but alive and otherwise fine. However her brother was nowhere to be found.
Her family began ignoring her, silently blaming her for the loss of their son. Calista mourned her brother, and could not wait for her upcoming Choosing Ceremony. Despite her test telling her she was meant for Erudite. Calista could not stay. She refused to, and with her final decision, her blood sizzled on the burning coals. In Dauntless, she pushed herself to succeed, although she lacked brute strength and lagged behind in the first round of training, she quickly adapted and learned to use her agility and speed to her advantage, climbing the ranks and finishing in 3rd.
Calista clenched her eyes, her body was curled into a ball of her room in the West Tower. They were coming for her. She could feel it. In a matter of moments, she would be dead or worse at the hands of the government. Was this her fate? To fight for her cause with everything she had, to give everything for the greater good of all gifted. A world of equality, hah! That dream seemed long gone now.
Tears streamed freely down her face, as she thought about all she would be leaving behind. When it occurred to her, there was nothing left. Her family hated her. She was useless to the battlefront now that she wasn't a spy. Everyone hated her. She had the blood of her unborn niece or nephew on her hands. She was a monster.
It seemed like the fate of all gifted was to die in some brutal manner. To be betrayed by those they cared about. To fight each other like animals, trapped within these blood-stained walls. There was no escape from it. That wasn't really true, though. There was one escape and Calista had been so close. Death wasn't a monster, it was a savior. Calista had almost reached it, she had almost broken free of this life of destruction, pain and tragedy. This cruel thing they called life. Meredith had stopped her. How could the prefect leader possibly call that 'saving' Calista? Meredith had doomed her. Calista got to live, just to witness one of her few friends die.
She let out a sob, a sad, broken sob. She would be killed soon, and so would everyone she loved. The government would spare no one and there was nothing she could do to save them.
'But, there is something you can do...you can save them, you can save them all...' A voice whispered the intoxicating concept to her.
"What?! Who are you?" Calista stood and called through the empty room, but saw no one. The shadows in the room seemed to shift and grow restless. The voice laughed. That laugh was familiar....it was Calista's own. The dark haired teen dropped back to the floor, burying her face in her hands.
"How?...all I do is destroy everything. Everyone I love, they all suffer because of me." She sobbed. Seth, Lelouch, Chandler, Bridget, and even Meredith...they would all have been better off without her. The voice laughed again.
'the way you know best. The only way to end their suffering
"I-I can't do that. I can't..." Even if she wanted to, how would she? How could she even attempt such a feat?
'You can do it, Calista. I know you can...I am you after-all...we'll do it together. You can save them.' Something inside Calista seemed to grow and shift, the shadows in the room began to grow restless. Slowly, Calista rose to her feet. A small smile began to grow on her face, a sadistic, cruel, smile.
She laughed, it was creepy sound that echoed through the empty room and when she looked up, her eyes were completely black, without any iris, like empty holes.
"I-I can save them..." Calista walked to the window in her room, she raised a fist and threw it forward, watching as the glass shattered into pieces, the little bits creating lines of red down her arm.
"heh..how pretty... she mused, as she saw the streaks of crimson against her snow white skin. She stared out at the expanse of the island before her. She would save them all. as she lifted her hands, shadows began to rise from wherever they may be. She smiled darkly, and with a simple wave of her hand, they began to spread over the island, coating it in complete darkness, snuffing out any and all light and turning the once blue-sky completely dark. Pitch Black.
Calista smiled proudly at her handiwork, before turning to the door. It was time to get started. She ran with an inhuman like grace, as if her feet were barely touching the ground. Just as helicopters began to land on the island, carrying the government and whatever plans they may have. It was too bad, though. Because Calista would beat them to whatever they had planned for the Gifted.
